The story of Lorraine Fred, proprietor, begins with her expertise in personal styling that extends back to the launch of her career. It’s no surprise her hard working, tenacious, and creative personality earned her a following.
At the age of 27, with just 2 styling chairs Lorraine opened the doors of Lorraine’s House of Styles in her beloved hometown - Hoboken NJ - and never looked back. Lorraine was learning the ropes as a business owner and honing her craft, but as the years passed, she was hungry for more…
Lorraine’s expertise spans all aspects of beauty, fashion, hair and makeup and was called upon by Redken USA to lend her skills to their educational program. As a Certified Redken Educator, Lorraine transformed her salon into a teaching Summit Salon where other Summit Salon associates learn how to hone their skills in color, corrective color, creative color, cut and styling.
When she is not behind the chair or in her PMU room at LHSBeauty Salon, you can find Lorraine traveling the country working behind the scenes at New York’s Fashion Week and Couture Bridal Fashion Week backstage at concerts and events.
Lorraine has a way of making you feel like a guest in her home. She believes in working hard and playing hard and consistently delivers seriously amazing results.
Lorraine is inspired by the seasons and fashion, but her biggest muse comes from the energy she receives from you. When you sit down with her, she will take the time to get to know you and your home hair care routine. She’ll ask you questions like - What do you love about your hair? What do you want to change? Do you use hot tools or air dry? and more. She says, “I also ask them to bring inspirational photos, maybe a favorite photo of themselves or favorite photos of different cuts and colors they love. Everyone is different and everyone has a different lifestyle.
She is selfless and genuine, and truly cares for every person who sits in her chair and enters her life. When Lorraine isn’t beautifying her clients, educating stylists, or backstage at New York Fashion Week, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and close friends. “I love a good game night,” says Lorraine, “and delish wine and cheese nights at my house!” She keeps her zen by practicing yoga, gardening , reading, and catching up on family time’.
